New beginnings involve the color Yellow

Away with the colors of Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. Show us what “yellow” means to you.

Yellow to me symbolizes bright days ahead. When I think of yellow, I think of yellow flowers such as the center of a daisy flower, and a bulbous sunflower on its long stalk.

It’s such a beautiful and happy color when you look at it. It’s energizing without overwhelming you such as red. Just like a sunshine or sunset, yellow looks so pretty.

When my younger sister, Dina, graduated from University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) last weekend, my family bought her the brightest and biggest bouquet of sunflowers we could find her. Her graduating meant even brighter days ahead for her as she goes into the next stage of her life.

This is my family (sans Ronnie since he was working) after the graduation ceremony. I love this family photo and I love how her yellow sunflowers just “pop” here.

What does “yellow” mean to you? Does it make you happy or does it just remind you of lemons and lemons make you sad? I’d love to know!

I hope you have a great Sunday before the holiday!! Oh, and happy first day of Winter!! Here’s to celebrating the shortest and darkest day of the year!

<3 always,

christina
